What an interesting thing, this blogging. It is a phenomenon that has blown up over the past several years that allows any person with Internet access to publish their writing on the Internet for a global audience to read and respond to. The practical applications for this technology have been evolving quickly. For our purposes, blogging has potential beyond our own creative confines.

- This spot is one of the many ways we can encourage the NEs to develop their own space...add their own personality or "culture" to where they will be communicating. I have added several images for filler. They are actually images of my son Jackson, and several old pictures of my mother's family. The idea is in the form of a gallery. In addition to pictures, NE's could have audio and/or video features in their blog to create a space all their own.

Security- Let's Keep Our NEs Safe
That's right, don't mess with our NEs or we'll getcha!
Another big question we have to consider is how do we secure and control a team's blog? Security and control go hand in hand when using the program to blog that I have chosen to use, TypePad. TypePad has made it very easy to password protect any part of a blog. There may be a password required to view a blog, or we can require a person to register their email address in order to comment on a post.
RSS...What?
RSS stands for Real Simple Syndicate. "Great, so... what does that mean?" you say? Well, think of it this way: It is like your own personal switch board that funnels information your way when there is something interesting posted on the internet you may want to know about.
Podcasting
They are everywhere, affectionately referred to as the newest important New York accessory. iPods are here, storm the field style, and they are here to stay...in one form or another. You know how they work. iPod is Apple Computer's brand of mp3 player, and more recently your favorite music video and television show projector. That's right, you can watch your favorite episode of The Office right from your iPod while you ride the F Train to work in the morning. But iPod's most exciting option is podcasting.
