C.S. Lewis has written an amazing collection of stories in The Chronicles of Narnia. I had the chance to read through book two in the series, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe over the weekend. It wasn't my first time through the wardrobe with Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy into the magical land of Narnia where animals talk, the trees and brooks have spirits, and exciting adventures wait.
I was inspired to reread the book because it is being turned into a movie in the Winter of 2005. Now I am reading it aloud to my class. They are captivated even after the first chapter where Lucy enters Narnia through the wardrobe and meets a faun named Mr. Tumnus. That's him on the cover of the book.
One things we are already having fun doing in our class is making a list of words that are new to us. There are already about six words in the first chapter that we have written down on our list. I'll start a list of the words, with meanings our class has decided on, in the comments. Feel free to add new words from the story and add to our definitions. Enjoy the adventures of Narnia.
