With the current growth of Bb. U, the question when considering this kind of support for our NEs is, "How easy will a blog be to maintain?"
My experience working with blogs is relatively young, however, within that experience I have found that blogs are very simple to maintain and regulate. I was recently using a blog in a class of 31 fourth graders and it literally took minutes to read and respond to any posts and comments students, or other people, had made regarding my student's writing. Posting new information for response was simple as well. I just had to type what I wanted so say and publish the post. It was immediately updated on the Internet for anyone to read.
With the establishment of team leaders to coordinate small NE support groups, managing their group's blog would be the substitute for hosting the conference call. The team leader would still guide the direction of the discussion with the post topics. It would be relatively simple to do with a little bit of training we could offer at some point during Immersion 1. Like with the now existing conference call, a NE Developer would meet regularly with the team leaders via blog to support, guide points of discussion for individual team blogs, and advanced blog training.
