That's right, don't mess with our NEs or we'll getcha!
Another big question we have to consider is how do we secure and control a team's blog? Security and control go hand in hand when using the program to blog that I have chosen to use, TypePad. TypePad has made it very easy to password protect any part of a blog. There may be a password required to view a blog, or we can require a person to register their email address in order to comment on a post.
With a password to gain access to a blog, we automatically control who gets in. If by some reason the integrity of the password is compromised, one needs only to enter TypePad and change the password. To regulate comments to a post we can do two things. We simply require NEs to register their email address with TypePad (painless) so we can bring any unwanted user to the attention of TypePad, and that person is no longer welcome to comment to posts. We can also moderate comments before they make it to the World Wide Web in order to discard any that seem inappropriate.
A blog can be as open or closed as we desire. To see an example of blog access, click on one of the "Class of..." dates in the NE Teams category at the upper left of this page. To access the 9-19-05 team blog, click on the link and type courtney as the user name and password. To access the 8-8-05 blog, click on the link and type amanda as the user name and password.

I feel all safe now, like a bug in a rug.
